Carbon & Emery Counties will host A Light to Remember in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, August 30, 2025. These events seek to increase awareness about substance-related overdose, support people in recovery, provide education and support, and remember loved ones that we have lost. Participants will:
Have the opportunity to share a name/photo on the Memory Wall and dedicate a luminary to commemorate a loved one.
Receive free naloxone training and kit.
Visit booths with local information and resources, and much more.
Swag bags and meal from local Gettin’ Our Smoke On will be provided to the first 150 attendees.
All community members are invited. Admission is free. The experience of remembering and honoring is priceless.

6:00 pm: Meander through community partner booths, pick up your swag bag*, dedicate a luminary, post on the Memory Wall, learn about local resources, enjoy your meal* from Gettin’ Our Smoke On, enjoy the experience of sharing in this honor with the community.
6:30 pm & 7:00 pm: Receive a brief naloxone training session and free naloxone kit.
7:30 pm: Moment of Silence honoring those who have been lost to overdose (in support of International Overdose Awareness Day, #endoverdose).
8:00 pm: Luminary lighting ceremony.
